Plain words about what this site does with your information.
Today
The email list is not open yet. If you use a signup form on this site today, we do not save your name or email. The form tells you the list is opening soon.
When the list opens
- We will ask for your email and, if you want, your first name.
- We will send that to Kit (kit.com), the service that runs the mailing list.
- Kit will send a confirmation email. We only mail you after you press the button in that message.
- We tag the signup with the kind of page it came from, such as the home page, a story, or an issue. That helps us see which pages are useful.
- We do not sell your email. We do not give it to advertisers.
- Every email will have a one-click unsubscribe link.
What this site does not do
- No account and no password.
- No advertising cookies, and no cookie banner, because we do not set tracking cookies.
- No selling of personal information.
Who delivers the pages
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may see technical details of a visit, such as an IP address, in order to deliver the page and to block abuse. We also keep a light limit on how many times a signup form can be sent from the same network. We use that only to run the site.
